New 5G service types, integration with vertical industries, and new regulations mean that as 5G becomes operational, mobile operators are going to face a wealth of new regulatory requirements that must be fulfilled. Timelines for mobile standardization and deployment mean that U.S.- specific requirements need to be factored into the process as early as possible. The objective of this group is to ensure that all U.S. regulatory requirements and related operational needs that impact mobile standards are known, and that standards roadmaps in 3GPP and ATIS allow operators to fulfill the requirements.
