David Young, Vice President – Technology and Solutions

As Vice President of Technology and Solutions, David Young focuses on strategic initiatives to advance ATIS members’ business and technology priorities. Bringing extensive telecommunications experience and a service provider perspective, David provides ATIS direction on emerging technology trends as well as next generation technologies and networks. Before joining ATIS, he served as Vice President Public Policy at Verizon. His extensive career in telecommunications includes working as principal technologist doing research and development in Verizon’s CTO organization and was a named inventor on 12 U.S. patents. His experience also includes working in outside plant operations, customer service, engineering, IT, R&D and regulatory affairs positions. David served for many years as Verizon’s representative on the FCC’s Technological Advisory Council and he also represented Verizon on ATIS’ board of directors serving both as First and Second Vice Chair from 2017-2022.  David has previously served on the TPRC Board of Directors and has participated on other FCC working groups, including the CSRIC and Network Reliability Council. At ATIS, he serves as a key policy interface with the FCC and other agencies. David holds a master’s degree in economics from George Mason University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology.
