Multi-Network Enterprise Services Initiative Launches to Streamline/Integrate Complex Network Environments

Join the inaugural meeting: Wednesday, July 22, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. ET

WASHINGTON, DC — ATIS today announced launch of the Multi-Network Enterprise Solutions (MNES) Initiative, which will deliver solutions to optimize management of the complex enterprise network environment. The goal is to set the groundwork for expanding the features and services that communications service providers can offer — a critical industry priority given the high growth potential for improved services in vertical markets. MNES aims not only to deliver a standardized industry approach to integrate and streamline complex network environments, but also to enhance their overall reliability/resiliency, performance and security.

Enterprises currently use a diverse variety of networks and network technologies to deliver services and support internal operations. This spans mobile wireless services from multiple mobile operators; public and private (enterprise) Wi-Fi in dedicated enterprise spaces; private 3GPP networks, e.g., LTE, 5G with CBRS and other configurations; wired/fixed access and transport services, to support enterprise VPNs for example; satellite-based communication services; and more. The result is an expensive and complex arrangement with sub-optimal end-to-end network performance.

“In the current environment, a ‘least common denominator’ approach is often used for network capabilities, limiting the features and services communication providers can offer,” said ATIS President and CEO Susan Miller. “A standardized platform will help enterprises achieve lower overall network management costs as well as risk.  It will position operators to offer increasingly advanced services and capabilities that interface directly into the platform and also potentially offer the platform itself as a service to the enterprise.”

The MNES Initiative launches with a virtual meeting on Wednesday, July 22 at 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. ET.  If your company would like to join this important work, contact Rich Moran.
