ATIS Welcomes Michael Nawrocki as Vice President of Technology and Solutions

WASHINGTON — Feb. 1, 2016 — ATIS today announced that Mike Nawrocki has joined the organization in its new position, Vice President of Technology and Solutions, focusing on strategic initiatives to embrace the direction of the industry. In this role, he will specifically leverage his service provider perspective and extensive industry experience to provide ATIS direction on emerging technology trends as well as next generation technologies and networks. As an information and communications technology (ICT)industry veteran, Nawrocki’s hire deepens ATIS’ technical bench. Throughout his career, he has made contributions to many ATIS priority initiatives. As Vice President of Technology and Solutions, he will also be key in ATIS’ policy interface with the FCC and other agencies.

His most recent industry experience encompasses serving as Director – Standards & Industry Groups for Verizon Technology Strategy & Planning. At Verizon, Nawrocki also served as a Principal Member of the Technical Staff and as a Fellow for New Services Technology in the Verizon CTO Organization.  His extensive career with major service providers includes working in network planning and engineering positions both at AT&T and Bell Atlantic. His leadership has also been demonstrated through service on the MoCA Board of Directors, FCC CSRIC working groups, the FCC Network Reliability Council as well as other key industry technical and regulatory fora.

Nawrocki’s most recent ATIS engagement was through its comprehensive work addressing the all-IP transition.  Specifically he was co-chair of a major ATIS initiative advancing public safety communications infrastructure into the all IP era and a key driver in creating the valued industry resource Developing a Roadmap for the Migration of Public Safety Applications During the All IP Transition. He also led ATIS’ initiative on IP-Downloadable Security.
