ATIS to Provide Technology Roadmap for Smart Cities Infrastructure

WASHINGTON — Aug. 30, 2016 — ATIS today announced the launch of its Smart Cities Initiative, which will create a Technology Roadmap to identify key upcoming network-enabled developments to assist planners in developing strategies for integrating, staging, and deploying smart cities infrastructure.  It is designed to foster integration of municipal-focused services with expected developments in the commercial sector. The Roadmap will cover breakthrough technologies in the context of IoT, 5G, edge and cloud computing, spectrum considerations and infrastructure resiliency.

“City decision-makers and CIOs will benefit from knowing more about network-enabled technology and its role in delivering the future,” said ATIS President and CEO Susan Miller.”The Roadmap will help planners understand how innovations in the near term and on the horizon will make smart cities a reality, creating a bridge to a future wherein ICT innovation improves the opportunities our cities can deliver to enhance citizens’ lives.”

On Sept. 27 – 29 ATIS will participate in Smart Cities Week® 2016 as a Supporting
Organization.  The event is North America’s premier smart city conference and exhibition focused on holistic, integrated approaches to smart cities that save money while improving results. Produced by the Smart Cities Council, a recognized leader in smart cities education, the event takes place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC.
