5. Re-examination of the introductory text of chapter 4
“This chapter enumerates and describes the functional requirement for IPTV OSS. Appropriate IIF architecture requirements [2] and other requirements (including CIO Council requirements [3]) are mapped to specific IPTV OSS functional requirements. Examples of such functions are:
• Management of commercial advertising for IPTV – advertisement injection into the IPTV Service including billing and appropriate settlement by the operator or CP
• Purchases through interactive advertising
• IPTV partner agreements and content settlement
• IPTV content rating and parental control interfaces
• IPTV subscriber authentication/authorization and access to subscriber profiles across wireless and wireline networks
• IPTV usage (active) mediation - collection of IPTV usage and correlation with other events
• Advice of Charge (AoC) for a downloadable content
• Prepay balance/credits check
Other requirements are derived from the IPTV Operational Business Process described in section 3 above. The IPTV OSS functional requirements that are outlined in this chapter form the basis for the reference architecture depicted in the next chapter of this specification.”
