ATIS Creates Solution to Securely Authenticate Devices and Subscribers Across IPTV Networks ATIS today released a solution to securely identify and authenticate computers, TVs and other devices for connection into IPTV networks to enable video and other multimedia content to flow freely to users wherever they want it on the device of their choice.
ATIS Launches PSTN Transition Landscape Team ATIS today announced the launch of the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) Transition Landscape Team, which is making a high-level comprehensive assessment of critical issues associated with the transition underway from the PSTN to an IP-based network. The Landscape Team will evaluate PSTN replacement network architecture and capabilities, define the requirements for services on the new network, and assess whether standards are in place to handle IP-based telephony as a replacement for PSTN telephony. It also will examine the potential regulatory implications of rolling out the new network, specifically for VoIP and OTT providers. Its focus encompasses security issues as well as the transition of the network to meet key societal goals. Findings will direct further work by ATIS Focus Groups.
Gain Insight Into the Network’s Role in Advancing M2M Innovations at an ATIS Expert Session at the M2M Evolution Conference A featured speaker from the ATIS M2M Focus Group will make an expert presentation at the M2M Evolution Conference entitled The Network’s Role in Advancing M2M Innovations. Machine-to-machine technology is playing an increasingly pivotal role in enabling innovations such as the smart grid, connected vehicles, and ehealth, and ATIS has launched the M2M Focus Group to help define ICT's role in this emerging enterprise space. Co-chaired by HP and Cisco, with representatives from 20 member companies, the Focus Group addresses standards issues in a number of areas critical to M2M success working with other companies and SDOs on a global scale.
