As Senior Director of Worldwide Strategy and Operators for Texas Instruments’ (TI) wireless business unit, Tim Newberg is responsible for developing strategy and analyzing new, emerging and disruptive wireless technologies. In this role, he works to define TI’s strategies involving mobile operators, mergers and acquisitions, and industry consortia.
During his 15 years at TI, Newberg has worked in several management positions ranging from business operations and development, to product marketing, technical sales and strategic account management. He formerly was based in France where he served as TI’s worldwide business development and marketing manager for wireless chipsets. He later joined TI’s sales organization and was responsible for building strong, collaborative relationships with strategic accounts, most recently with Microsoft.
Newberg has been recognized for various achievements throughout his tenure at TI. Under his leadership, Microsoft awarded TI with its “Silicon Vendor Partner Excellence Award” in 2007. Further, in recognition of his many significant achievements and impact within TI, Newberg has been selected multiple times as a “High Five Circle” winner, a group composed of TI's top five percent within the technical sales and marketing organization.
Newberg earned a master’s degree in business administration from Southern Methodist University and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Florida. He has enjoyed participating in marathons and triathlons for more than 15 years, most notably the Escape from Alcatraz and Ironman Florida triathlons
