Palanivelu has global responsibility for Nortel’s Wireless Portfolio.

He has extensive International experience with positions held in India , Singapore supporting customers and opportunities in Asia and in the US supporting accounts globally. Palanivelu has been instrumental in growing the CDMA Wireless Business in Nortel where the company leads the market with a #1 position in 1xEV-DO deployments and a strong #2 Infrastructure Market Share. He held a variety of roles in Engineering, Product Management, Sales and Marketing in Nortel’s Wireless Business units for the past 14 years and most recently in establishing Nortel’s leadership in Next Generation Mobile Broadband solutions. He leads the global marketing team promoting Nortel’s leadership and supporting the regional teams globally.

Palanivelu holds a Masters Degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering and MBA in Marketing and Strategy.

Prior to joining Nortel in 1996, Palanivelu worked in SIEMENS Transport Networks Division where he was instrumental in establishing SIEMENS entry in the India Cellular market.
