Dave is the Director of Emerging Technology Business Development for Microsoft's Windows Mobile organization, based in Redmond, Washington. His primary responsibilities revolve around emerging technologies for the mobile operators that want to deploy Windows Mobile based devices, along with associated applications and partnerships. Dave has been with Microsoft since early 1999, and involved in a variety of mobile devices, services, and server offerings since then.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Dave was the Director of Wireless Technology at Wink Communications, where they developed the first graphical micro-browser applicable to both wireless devices and interactive television in 1996.
Prior to that, he spent almost 15 years at Bell Laboratories as a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff and in other managerial positions, supporting public network technologies such as wireless services, Intelligent Networking (IN), and digital switching. Along the way, he led the engineering team that designed and deployed the first hybrid (private tandem/public IN) corporate network as the Department Head of Engineering at RCA Network Services. Dave is a BS/MSEE graduate of Michigan State University and has been in public network communications for over 25 years. He is a frequent contributor to industry fora and resides in the San Francisco Bay area.
