ATIS: INES - Interim Non-voice Emergency Services

Welcome to the AISP.7-Interim Non-Voice Emergency Services (INES) Incubator

The Interim Non-Voice Emergency Services (INES) Incubator is working to identify interim solution(s) for text-based wireless communications to existing 9-1-1 services as an alternative to the text telephone system (TTY) while Next Generation 9-1-1 (“NG9-1-1”) solutions are under development. The INES Incubator is led by its Chair, Jim Nixon, T-Mobile, and Vice-Chair, George Stanek, AT&T. The INES held its first meeting in April 2011, and completed its work in December 2011, producing the "ATIS Interim Non-Voice Emergency Service (INES) Report and Recommendations". The report is available free of charge to download (right) as well as publicly filed in an Ex-Parte with the FCC (available here).
