IPTV Interoperability Forum
ATIS, through the IIF, is developing the industry’s end-to-end solution for IPTV – a suite of globally acceptable standards for the delivery of live broadcast video, content on demand and interactive TV.

Convergence
ATIS released in September 2007 its ATIS Exploratory Group on Covergence (EGC) Report and Recommendations. This report defines the meaning and scope of convergence and its various aspects; delineates “use cases” and the network requirements needed to enable converged services; and provides an assessment of needed standards and technical work. ATIS is now launching a highly collaborative effort among its standards committees that is expected to produce significant deliverables as required by our membership and industry.

Optical Access Networks
ATIS released in August 2007 itse OAN Assessment and Work Plan – a comprehensive analysis of G-PON based optical access systems, and an assessment of needed processes, industry standards and specifications. ATIS members are now executing the work plan through the ATIS Optical Access Networks Subcommittee.

Inter-carrier VOIP Call Routing
ATIS formed its Inter-Carrier VoIP Call Routing Focus Group (IVCR-FG) in February 2007, chaired by Qwest CTO Pieter Poll. Through this effort, ATIS seeks to facilitate the development of multi-carrier call routing standards and agreements for North America, and potentially global, VoIP service providers. The IVCR-FG will publish a report on its findings shortly. Member companies of ATIS will receive a copy of the report upon its release.

IPv6
The ATIS IPv6 Task Force issued its July 2007 report outlining the key technical and operational priorities for the implementation of IPv6. The report, entitled ATIS Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) Task Force Report on IPv6 Transition Challenges, identifies 18 key transition challenges, several of which have been identified as high priority.
