FCC Reporting Requirements:

The FCC requires wireless carriers and handset manufacturers to submit on an annual basis status reports notifying the Commission of the company’s compliance with the hearing aid compatibility requirements. Pursuant to the new requirements under Hearing Aid Compatibility First Report and Order (WT Docket No. 07-250), the initial reports for manufacturers and carriers are due January 15, 2009. Thereafter, reports will be filed annually beginning July 15, 2009, for manufacturers and January 15, 2010, for service providers.

Incubator Status Report Submissions to the FCC
The AISP.4-HAC will provide a venue for the industry to submit a collective status report to the FCC. Participation in the collective report is voluntary.

Submission Process:

1) Only reports submitted in the provided templates will be submitted to the FCC by the AISP.4-HAC.

2) To have your status report submitted in the AISP.4-HAC Report to the FCC, your status report must be received by 5:00 PM EST on Thursday, January 8, 2009.

3) In order to ensure receipt of all of your status report information, you MUST send your report to ATIS via both e-mail and facsimile.

• Email your status report template in MS word format to Dei rdre Cheek at dcheek@atis.org.

• Send your status report template via fax to 202-347-7125 and ATTN: Deirdre Cheek- HAC.

Fees:
Inclusion in the AISP.4-HAC Joint Report will be free to AISP.4-HAC members. The reports will be combined into one document with a summary of AISP.4-HAC activities attached.

Other carriers can also be included for a fee or can join the Incubator at a reduced rate. [Click here to download payment form]
