digit
A symbol, numeral, or graphic character that represents an integer. Note 1: Examples of digits include any one of the decimal characters "0" through "9" and either of the binary characters "0" or "1." Note 2: In a given numeration system, the number of allowable different digits, including zero, is always equal to the base (radix).
