Abbreviation. dB in reference to 1 mW at 600 ohms, equal to 0.775 V, mainly used in audio systems (e.g., to measure audio levels in broadcasting as an audio reference) and in analog telephony. Also used in reference to 0.775 V from low-impedance outputs and high impedance inputs. Note: These are measurements of an audio voltage, not power.
