check sequence (CS)
A 16-bit sequence in the last two octets of a frame (excluding flags) that offers a cyclic redundancy check (CRC). The CRC is derived over either the header in unnumbered-information-header format frames or over the entire packet frame for unnumbered-information frames (excluding flags). The algorithm used is described in ISO 3309. [T1.312-1991]
