isolated ground plane
A set of interconnected frames that is intentionally grounded via only one connection to a ground reference; this plane, taken as a conductive unit with all of its metallic surfaces and grounding (earthing) wires bonded together, is insulated from contact with any other grounded metalwork in the building.
