ATIS Announces 2010 Officers and Board of Directors


November 10, 2009, Washington, DC – The Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS) announced today that John Donovan, AT&T CTO, has been re-elected Chairman of the Board of Directors. Donovan has held the Chairmanship since January 2009. The Board also re-elected Nick Adamo, Senior Vice President of Cisco Systems, as First Vice Chairman and Mark Wegleitner, Senior Vice President of Verizon, as Second Vice Chairman. Newly elected as Board Secretary was Qwest’s CTO, Pieter Poll.

In addition to electing Officers, the Board also elected Alcatel-Lucent’s CTO, Paul Mankiewich, as Chairman of ATIS’ Technology and Operations (TOPS) Council. In this role, Mankiewich will lead the Council’s focus on the industry’s business-driven priorities. Mankiewich succeeds Pieter Poll in this role.

ATIS welcomes the following new board members: Kuntal Chowdhury, Vice President of Standards and Technology at Starent Networks; and John Shelnutt, Goodman Networks’ Executive Vice President of Sales and Business Development. The following Board members have been re-elected for another term: Terry Metze, Spirit Telecom’s Vice President of Business Development; Rich McBee, President of Tektronix; and Lonnie Martin, Positron’s Vice President of North American Sales.
