MEDIA ADVISORY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: July 13, 2009

Announcing the ATIS Webinar:
IPTV: One Service, One Standard, Many Networks

What: ATIS will present a Webinar titled: “IPTV: One Service, One Standard, Many Networks.” We will explore key issues related to IPTV’s successful standardization.

When: Tuesday, July 21, 2009
1:00 pm to 2:00 pm ET

Cost: Free

Webinar content: ATIS ' IPTV Interoperability Forum (IIF) has taken a highly flexible approach to the standardization of IPTV service. IIF standards recognize the special demands a streaming video service places on a delivery network and assume that the service is implemented over a Next Generation Network (NGN); an IP network that has managed resources. But what network architecture is assumed? Is it based on IMS or Non-IMS protocols?

This Webinar will focus on how a device attaches to the network (either IMS or Non-IMS), what service providers are available via the network, how a device attaches to a service provider, and what services they offer. Most importantly, the process will show how the standardized data structure model is used during each phase of attachment.

Featured presenters: The Webinar will be moderated by Dan O'Callaghan , Principal Member of Technical Staff for Verizon Communications and ATIS IIF Committee Chair , and will feature Randy Sharpe , ATIS IIF Architecture Committee Co-Chair and Senior Principal Engineer, Alcatel-Lucent, and Kinney Bacon, ATIS IIF Metadata Committee Co-Chair and SA-Principal Engineer, Cisco Systems .

Register: Enroll online at: http://www.atis.org/webinar/webinar_registration.asp .
The confirmation page and email will include all necessary information for joining the Webinar. Registrants will also receive a 15% discount on all ATIS IIF documents.
