October 2, 2008, Washington – ATIS and IHS (NYSE: IHS) today announced that ATIS standards will be brought to a worldwide audience through inclusion in subscription offerings from IHS, a leading global source of critical information and insight. This means ATIS’ vast offering of technical and operations standards for the information, entertainment and telecommunications technology industries will have greater potential for reaching new markets where they can be adopted as the basis for emerging technologies.
“The landmark work generated by ATIS’ 22 committees is creating standards that are driving change in everything from IPTV to home networking to information security—and more. It’s critical that these standards reach the widest possible audience,” said Susan Miller, ATIS President and CEO. “IHS has a proven history of reaching target markets for its clients globally.”
The ATIS-IHS relationship also means that ATIS standards will be available through the IHS Standards Expert™, one of the most comprehensive collections of technical information in the communications industry. IHS Standards Expert™ allows fast access to ATIS and other standards via an individualized member subscription service and/or customized collections. It also provides alerts when standards are revised.
“ATIS is a welcome addition to our existing comprehensive range of standards offerings for the telecommunications industry,” said IHS Vice President David Richards. “We look forward to introducing ATIS’ leading-edge standards to our ever-broadening client base.”
