ATIS Hosts Chinese Standards Delegation

December 13, 2005, Washington – ATIS hosted a high-level delegation from the China Communications Standards Association (CCSA) last week that allowed the two organizations to share information about their standards development activities.

“ATIS was honored to host the leaders of CCSA and the chief technology officers from China Unicom and China Mobile,” said Susan Miller, president and CEO of ATIS. “Coordination and cooperation between ATIS, CCSA and others in the international standards community is critical to our mutual objectives as we strive for global standards for the next generation network.”

During their three-hour meeting presenters shared information about ongoing work for next generation network (NGN) standards, IPTV, IPv6, network security, intellectual property rights in standards development and priority standards work in both China and North America.

The Chinese delegation included CCSA officers Mr. Zhu GaoFeng, chairman of the CCSA Council; Mr. Zhou BaoZin, vice chairman and general secretary of the CCSA Council; and Mr. Wen Ku, vice chairman of the CCSA Council and director general, MII Department of Science and Technology. Also in attendance were CCSA council members Madam Li MoFang, chief technology officer of China Mobile Communications, and Mr. Zhang Fan, chief technology officer of China Unicom.
