ATIS Selects 2006-2007 Leadership
BellSouth, SBC, Cisco and Siemens Executives Elected as Board Officers
October 13, 2005, Washington – ATIS today announced the election of its officers for the 2006-2007 term.
William L. Smith, chief technology officer of BellSouth, has been re-elected as the Chair of the ATIS Board. Smith has been serving as the Chair since May 2004.
Christopher T. Rice, executive vice president – network engineering and planning for SBC, will serve as first vice chair. Rice has served as second vice chair since September 2004.
Nick Adamo, vice president – U.S. service provider at Cisco Systems, was elected to serve as second vice chair.
Harald Braun, president, networks division, Siemens Communications, Inc., will serve as ATIS’ treasurer.
“ATIS is fortunate to have such strong leadership to guide the organization through the rapid changes in the communications industry,” said Susan Miller, president and CEO of ATIS. “The energy and vision of our officers will ensure that ATIS delivers implementable, interoperable, end-to-end solutions as the evolution to next-generation networks continues.”
The elections were held October 12, 2005, at the ATIS board meeting in Washington.
Also Wednesday, elections were held during the ATIS Annual Meeting for open Board of Director seats. Bill Ruhl of D&E Communications, Al Weigand of North Pittsburgh, and Terry Metze of Spirit Telecom were all re-elected to the Board. Newly elected directors include Carl Russo of Calix and Augie Cruciotti of IP Unity, a Class D member company.
The terms of the officers and the new directors will be effective January 1, 2006 and run through December 31, 2007.
