Press Conference Call & Webinar Thursday, September 15

Wrap-up of ATIS IPTV Interoperability Forum Inaugural Meeting

September 12, 2005, Washington – ATIS will hold a conference call and webinar for the media on Thursday, September 15, 2005, from 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. (EDT) to discuss the outcome of the ATIS IPTV Interoperability Forum (IIF) inaugural meeting.

The discussion will include an overview of issues that will provide focus for the initial standards work within IIF and a glimpse of upcoming activities. Kevin Schneider, co-chair of the IIF and chief technology officer of ADTRAN, will be the primary spokesperson on the call. After a brief presentation the call will be opened to questions.

IPTV is of growing importance to the communications industry. Earlier this summer ATIS announced the formation of the IIF as a place where the industry can come together to identify and create technical standards necessary for wide-scale commercial deployment of IPTV. Participating companies include service providers; network equipment manufacturers; software and middleware developers; and content providers.

The IIF meeting is occurring Tuesday and Wednesday, September 13-14. It is not open to the media.
