ATIS-sponsored Network Interconnection Interoperability Forum Announces New Moderator
February 27, 2002, Washington, D.C. - The ATIS-sponsored Network Interconnection Interoperability Forum (NIIF) - an open forum which resolves issues associated with telecommunications network interconnection and interoperability - announced that Stuart Goldman, AG Communication Systems, will serve as the 2002 NIIF Moderator.
Goldman formerly served as Assistant Moderator in 2001, and is an Engineering Fellow with AG Communication Systems in Phoenix, Arizona. Goldman has more than 30 years of telephony experience, and has been awarded eight patents in cellular communications and other technical areas. Goldman also serves as the Chair for Standards Committee T1 Technical Subcommittee T1S1.3, also sponsored by ATIS.
"Stuart Goldman brings a wealth of telecommunications knowledge and expertise to the NIIF Forum," said Maria Estefania, Director of the NIIF Forum at ATIS. "We look forward to Stuart's leadership as the Forum addresses issues of national importance including the rollout of call priority functionalities which will ensure that emergency services, such as Government Emergency Telecommunications Service (GETS), work as designed."
Goldman will also facilitate Forum issues addressing difficulties with roaming wireless calls placed to toll free numbers; developing procedures for handling code expedite requests; and developing a common set of interoperable characteristics necessary to ensure the successful interconnection and interoperability of Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) public networks in a multiple carrier environment.
