ATIS Holds 2001 Annual Meeting, Elects Officers and Directors
Ross Ireland, Senior Executive Vice President - Services at SBC, to Serve as ATIS Chairman beginning in 2002
November 14, 2001,Washington, D.C. --- The Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS) announced the results of its board of director elections held during its recent annual meeting in Washington, D.C. Ross Ireland, Senior Executive Vice President - Services for SBC, was elected to serve as Chairman of the board of directors following the term of current ATIS Chairman Martin T. McCue, Senior Vice President for Global Crossing Telecommunications. Ireland currently serves as the ATIS Board's First Vice Chairman.
Second Vice Chairman Dr. Asok Chatterjee, Vice President of Industry Standards for Ericsson was elected to fill Ireland's vacated First Vice Chairman seat on January 1. Additionally, Susan Schramm, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Siemens Carrier Networks, was elected to serve as Second Vice Chairwoman.
Elected to the board as an ATIS Class C member representative was William Ruhl,
President and Chief Executive Officer for Denver & Ephrata Telephone Co.,
who previously served as a Class D member representative. He will join David
Maccarelli, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for NTELOS, and
the following Class C member representatives, all of whom were re-elected: Michael
Nash, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for CT Communications,
Inc.; Bruce Johnson, Senior Vice President of Operations and Engineering for
Illuminet; and Frank Reese, Director of Future Technology and Product Planning
for North Pittsburgh Telephone Company.
Newly-elected to the board as an ATIS Class D member representative were: Venkates
Swaminathan, Executive Vice President for Nightfire Software and Jacquelene
Mitchell, Senior Vice President for Billing Concepts. They will join Allen Arving,
President of East Otter Tail Telephone Company who was re-elected, and Trenton
Boaldin, Vice President for Operations for Epic Touch; and David Deutschman,
Chief Technology Officers for Quintessent Communications, Inc.
Terms for the newly-elected officers and representatives begin on January 1, 2002.
