The first ATIS Annual Meeting of Committees brought together 400 ATIS committee and forum participants, ATIS Board members and special guests for a week of ATIS Committee meetings, educational programming and networking Oct 11-15. Held in Las Vegas in conjunction with TELECOM ’04, participants enjoyed the added benefit of attending TELECOM ’04 General Sessions, which included keynote presentations and a roundtable discussion featuring Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg and Brian Roberts from cable giant Comcast. Other presenters included Alltel CEO Scott Ford and John Stanton, CEO of Western Wireless, who shared their perspective on rural service delivery. Tuesday, October 12, the ATIS Technology Forum, open to all TELECOM ’04 participants, featured presentations and a roundtable discussion from the following industry technology leaders: ATIS Board Chairman Bill Smith, CTO, BellSouth; Balan Nair, CTO, Qwest; Chris Rice, executive vice president – Services, and CTO, SBC Communications; and Verizon President of Network Services, Paul Lacouture. The ATIS Technology Forum included breakout session on IP-based Video and IP Billing Systems.

Wednesday, October 13, ATIS also held its first General Session of Committees – a gathering of just ATIS committee participants – with presentations by ATIS President and CEO Susan Miller, ATIS Chairman Bill Smith of BellSouth, an Ask the Board Q&A panel session, and the presentation of the ATIS Annual Awards.
