Subject: Fw: Afghanistan - Have progressed with this with iFone and
the
Arm y?
Virginia,
I waited to answer your question until I could discuss your
forwarded email
with Brad Long.
This question seems to be about calls that T-Mobile roamers make
on the
Ifone network in Afghanistan.
In any other SLA, Ifone would charge T-Mobile for any local and
long
distance calls, and T-Mobile would put the calls on
their subscribers bills.
This is not what we are doing in this particular case.
Any such calls made or received by T-mobile roamers would be
transported
over the DSN network to the US.
Therefore, in a sense, the Army has already
paid for the
cost of the call.
We would not be billing T-Mobile for any such calls.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you requre further clarification.
Kind regards,
Joe

you meant a new development. My big question to him
was
who pays LD costs on calls back from DSN to US when personnel are using
our phones at the base. Once he could get that answer, I told
him to contact
David Clay. B/c they cannot bill
TMUS, it has to be eaten by them. Then we
may have
ourselves a solution.
